Sempachs Altstadt ist seit Ende 2008 eine Begegnungszone. Der definitive Deckbelag, welcher eine platzartige Gestaltung des Raums zwischen den historischen Häuserzeilen erlaubt, erfolgt 2009. In Diskussion ist zudem die Einführung von autofreien Abenden.
